Let the Thirsty Come

In thinking about my thirsty soul and figuring out How to Fill up on Living Water, I got hung up on John 6:35, “Those who believe in me will never be thirsty” and 7:38, “Whoever believes in me will have streams of living water flow from within.” Since I knew I was thirsty and not sure how to fill up, I doubted what I believe.

Then I was reminded of Hebrews 12:2, “Fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith”. Jesus is the author of my faith (what I believe), I can’t believe Jesus without Jesus helping me believe in him. That is a wild thought that can go in circles until I go back to Fixing my eyes on Jesus, the source of my faith. Jesus is the source of both my faith and living water.

This waterfall photo, has its source inside a desert mountain. That water source helps many things live, but for us to see it, we had to search for it. Many people searched for it as there were many on the hike to the source. Jesus said if we search for him, we will find Him, the source of living water. As humans we are always physically searching for water, like when we use enormous, expensive equipment to dig for a well or spend our time and money camping by a stream in the forest. My soul thirsts and Jesus invites my soul to rest at the source of living water. So, if your soul is thirsting for some living water, RSVP to the invitation, search for the source and bring your Bible to read while you rest at the source.

Jesus is the source of Living Water and invites us to come and rest in Him.
