This is Living!

This is a photo I took of my daughter doing a Spartan race in 2016. Who in the world is smiling when they run into a mud pit? She did another race last weekend, a Rugged Maniac, she was still smiling in all the photos! One thing to understand is that she is not a runner, she plays volleyball and softball, so why does she smile when she runs? So much so that it appears she enjoys the mud and last weekend jumping over the fire!

God has given us all different gifts, and He has prepared work for each believer to do. We often think we won’t enjoy that work, but He didn’t ask me to run this race because He knew I wouldn’t enjoy it. For me, that is not living, but for my daughter, it is. Ephesians 2:10 says we are created in Christ to do the work God has prepared for us to do. So, why do I hesitate surrendering and submitting to God’s will and work for me?

I have been building walls and laying pavers for new patios and walkways. I don’t ask my husband or my son to help me lay the pavers, they don’t have the patience, but I can’t do it all myself. I need them to dig the trenches and the terraced walls and move the heavy sand, pavers and blocks super close to where I need them. God has different work prepared for each of us to do. We can’t do it all ourselves, God doesn’t expect us to. But we aren’t really living a full life until we submit to the work He has prepared us to do. So, submit and live!
